The First BioChem Results Are In!

Well I don't feel too bad for my first medical school exam. I got an 84%. I am not all that ecstatic about the score, but for spending only one evening studying for Biochem since school has started (that goes for Anatomy also) I don't feel so bad. That is not to say I didn't study but I tried to put my study time in during the day until 4 or 5pm and then spend the rest of the time with the family. Of the 8 questions I missed 4 were not explicitly, or inexplicitly for that matter, explained or talked about in class. I also got only three and a half hours of sleep last night. The stress of taking my first medical school exam I think got the best of my psyche. Oh well better preparation next time.
I was in the top 26% of my class, that is out of 160 students 16 of which are repeating the class. There were 15 failing grades--grades that were below 70%. The average was 80.5%.
As my BioChem professor had stated to me before, with a family it is better to get a B rather than sacrifice them and get an A. The perfectionist in me has a hard time with that but balance is the key and seeing my family happy with me being around is a priceless reward. So I will accept the grade and move on. Now it is time for Anatomy. Test on Monday at High Noon. But first I must catch up on some sleep. Nighty night.
